She might belong to one of the most famous families in the world, but Kate Middleton’s experience with motherhood has been grounded in reality.
The 35-year-old, who has announced she and Prince William are expecting their third child, has spoken openly about the struggles facing new mothers, in particular the isolation and loneliness.
During a visit to a west London high school in April this year, the Duchess opened about the emotional rollercoaster parenthood has taken her on.
“It is lonely at times and you do feel quite isolated but actually so many other mothers are going through exactly what you are going through,” she said.

Speaking at another Heads Together event, a mental health initiative championed by the young royals, Kate said it was “OK not to find it easy”.
"You just have to make it up and do the very best you can to care for your family," which can "lead to a lack of confidence and feelings of ignorance," she said.
In a statement on Monday, Kensington Palace announced that she was preganant again.
"As with her previous two pregnancies, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London today.
"The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace."
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child," the statement said
