Detectives hunting for missing British schoolgirl Madeleine McCann have been given a new injection of funds to hunt another suspect.
Another $260,000 will be poured into Scotland’s Yard’s Operation Grange coffers to pursue a “critical line of inquiry” and a “person of significance”.
British police have spent close to $20 million over the past decade hunting for the missing child, who vanished from a Portuguese hotel room.
Madeleine was just three when she disappeared from the hotel at Praia de Luz on May 3, 2007.
Her parents Kate and Gerry McCann said they had left her sleeping in their room while they went for dinner.
While the McCann case has proved one of the world’s most high profile searches for a missing person, efforts have been scaling back.
From a peak of 29 detectives looking for the little girl, just four are now tasked with finding her.
Madeleine would be 14 if still alive today.
